Rob Killen represents property owners, developers and businesses on issues including zoning, subdivision/platting, restrictive covenants, municipal ordinances, development agreements, vested rights, variances, annexation, tax abatements and the creation of special districts. He is a founding member of Killen, Griffin & Farrimond, a Texas law firm focused on land use and economic development.
Rob is actively involved in the community. He is the Chair Elect for the San Antonio Mobility Coalition, serves as the Secretary of the San Antonio Medical Foundation Board of Trustees and is on the UT San Antonio Development Board. In 2025 he served as Chaiman of the Board for the Metro SA Chamber. He previously served as Chairman of the North Chamber Board of Directors and President of the UTSA Alumni Association. He has been a member of the San Antonio Economic Development Foundation Executive Committee, the Witte Museum Board of Trustees and the SAMMinistries Board.
In 2024, Rob was recognized for his contributions to the real estate development industry in San Antonio with the prestigious Philip M. Barshop Founder’s Award. He received the State Bar of Texas’ “Best News Article Award” for his overview of new annexation laws. Rob has been honored with the Small Business Leaders Community Service Award, UTSA Alumnus of the Year, San Antonio 40 Under Forty, the Business Journal’s Outstanding Lawyer Award and the Young Professional Award for Professional Leadership.
As an undergraduate at the University of Texas at San Antonio, Rob’s extracurricular activities included serving as President of the Student Government and President of his fraternity chapter. In law school he was Articles Editor of the law review and was elected President of the Phi Delta Phi chapter.
Rob frequently speaks to community groups and business organizations about local politics, economic development, annexation and land use regulations. He also works with students and leadership development programs to foster the growth of the next generation of community leaders.
